Course Calculator

The Course Calculator has been added to enable you to see how many lessons fall

between certain dates. It is useful if you have students who want to buy a fixed

amount of lessons but you do not know because of holidays etc., exactly when these

lessons should begin and end.

 

The Course Calculator automatically avoids calculating lessons on holidays. So, first,

please make sure your holidays and semester course dates are in ClassMaster to ensure

accurate results.

Holidays Are basically national holidays when no lessons take place in your school or in

companies. Holidays are stored in Admin-Holiday List. If you mark a holiday as recurring

ClassMaster will remember that the hoiday always falls on the same day and you need

only enter it once. Movable holidays such as Easter will need to be entered individually.

Semester Breaks Are holidays when no teaching takes place in your school, although

teaching may continue off-site in companies etc.,. Typically these will be your Winter,

Spring breaks. These holidays are kept in Admin-Semester Breaks:

Using the Course Calculator

This is kept under Course-Course Calculator

Enter the From and To dates of the proposed lessons and whether it is a semester

course - national holidays are automatically excluded from calculations. Then tick the

days of the week the lessons are planned for and the length. When this is done click

Calculate.

ClassMaster will then calculate how many days lessons are possible between the

proposed dates and multiple by the lesson length you specify. It will give you the

answer in total minutes and in 60 and 45 minutes units or lessons.

If you would like to reset and try another range of dates just click Cancel and enter the

new details.
